Last September I was buying a laptop and had settled on a Compaq from Circuit City ONLY because they had a great warranty program, $399.99 for four a four year warranty which covers dropping, spillage, hardware, etc. EVERYTHING!!! Needless to say the laptop was damaged and I called on Circuit City to repair the laptop. Turns out they don't know anything about a warranty like that and I bought a $400 hardware warranty.
Why on earth would anyone spend that much money for an extended hardware warranty. The teenage managers at Circuit City don't seem to care and so now I am trying to get my warranty refunded. The only reason I bought this computer was because of the warranty. Now I'm stuck with a laptop that was not my first choice and no warranty.
Make sure you do A LOT of research before buying even the simplest item from Circuit City and you get absolutely everything IN WRITING from the manager. They apparently don't care what the associated tell their customers. The term BUYER BEWARE takes on a special meaning if you are considering buying anything from this store.
