I called apple on the phone on a 1800 number. The guy was a total jerk to me he said he had no record of me EVER CALLING! AND he said it was out of warranty. (I paid 250 dollars for it) he said theat I needed to send it back with 129 dollars plus $7 postage and handling and they would restore it to new. They dont even make 30 g anymore cause there were "too many problems and buggs in them" I got this info from a book I bought I tunes and ipod pocket guide, 2nd edition by Christopher Breen. Then I told him to forget it that it was obviously defective and I would just go buy the new 80g myself.
Later i called back after buying my new one. This guy said it had been handled all wrong. That there were numerous complaints on file of my calls while it was still under warranty! That it needed to be handled as a safety issue! And told me to take it to the nearest apple store for a new one or refund! We stiill intend to file a law suit! The apple store was rude said it was out of warranty he charged it and erased everything. Then they were unwilling to give me anything for my trouble and i was told the same thig after wzaiting 2 hours to be seen! I had my new ipod with me and the receipt of purchase.
