Don't ever buy anything from this company. They do not even hold most of the merchandise - they buy it from other companies if and when you place an order. My saga started back on 3/14/08 when I ordered an entertainment system, and they could not tell me when it would ship, (because they don't actually have the product). Also, the shipping was FREE (more on that later) I needed the entertainment center in a week because I was having a new system installed. I called the following Monday, got an answering machine (UGH!) and no one ever returned my call. I checked their web site, and now find out the product is on BACK ORDER. I called again twice over the next 2 days, still no return calls and still their web site was saying it was on BACK ORDER. I finally gave up and called them AND e-mailed them on 3/20/08 to cancel. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Lo and behold, the NEXT DAY I get a confirmation of shipment sent via e-mail. I immediately sent back an e-mail to them saying CANCEL. Then, a WEEK later (1 week after the deadline I had to install my new system) I get a call from the trucking company saying they had a shipment for me. I told them to return it.
Now the fun part. Out of a $338 total charge, I was charged a 20% restocking fee, PLUS SHIPPING CHARGES BOTH WAYS (shipping was supposed to be free) and I only get $90.40 back from $338??
WHAT A RIPOFF - The funny part is that legally they can't charge the fees because on the purchase form on their web site they never ask you to agree to the terms and conditions before the sale is complete. The terms are printed BELOW where you click to buy. So a lawyer said the terms are actually NOT part of the purchase agreement. Guess I gotta sue them.
Bottom line here is, NEVER buy a product online from a company who has a PO Box for an address, and NEVER buy from this ripoff company Stands and Mounts. Theie customer service is non-existent, they keep your order on BACK ORDER and never tell you, and then charge outrageous fees to return.
