Bestbuy, repair gone bad

I arrived at bestbuy on 12/10/07 to deliver a tv and remote for repair covered under their P.S.P. Warranty. I was assured by a gentlemen with a very youthful appearence that my repair should be ready in a 7-10 days. Unfortunatly the the geek squad associate took my phone number wrong as I figured out on my service order. I had to keep calling to find out when it was ready (8 days late).

Upon arrival my tv and remote were presented to me but the power cord was missing. I asked where is my power cord the associate then proceeded to look for the cord, after a 10-15 second attempt to locate it he very politely said he was sorry but he could'nt find it. I let him know I had to have it. I could not use the tv without it. He told me too bad it wasn't listed for repair. I told him the power cord was working the tv powered up fine. He said if it isn't listed they dont have to return it. I then with a sterness let him know that wasn't acceptable I advised him to get his manager. He did so.

The manager accompanied by the associate returned only to walk past me and they then appeared to begin another half-hearted attempt to find my cord. The manager then had to approach me and tell me he couldn't find my cord and he was going to find an extra one and he would return. After a very sub-dilligent 2 minute attempt to find one he returned with bad news. He told me that he was going to me a new one but it was "a special high wattage cord" (lie) and they arn't available. He then added "sorry but your out of luck".

I couldn't believe a member of any sort of management could handle this in such a manner.By the way my 15in. Lcd tv is rated at 36 watts which is extremely low wattage less than most standard light bulbs. I Knew when the manager initially wouldn't approach me He was going to possibly be less than professional.

I let the manager know he should replace the missing item. He then said The repair didn't list the cord so he wasn't going to do anything and please take my tv off his counter. I said what should I do with a tv I cant turn on. He said he did'nt care it wasn't his problem. He then told me I didn't bring in the cord. Completely floored considering his lack of presence at the initial repair delivery I responded with, How could you possibly know whether or not I brought in the cord. He replied with, it doesn't matter because it wasn't on the repair agreement. I then suggested he look at the surveilance video. He then said the cameras arn't on this register (a lie). He then told me the repair agreement was signed by me and I should have read it. He then said he reads what he signs and I should start doing the same. As he held the agreement in my face. If I didn't have my child with me I would have clocked him for invasion of my personnel space even though I have never laid a hand on anybody ever

I told him I wanted to return my warranty for refund and he could keep the useless tv.instantly out of nowhere the geek squad associate appeared with a Legal abandonment form for me to sign. I let him know I wouldn't be signing anything else in this store. The manager then said he wouldnt refund the warranty unless I signed the abandonment. I asked him if he was sure as to exactly what he was saying. His reply, I'm the manager. I then told him to return my original receipt He refused he said he wouldnt unless I signed the abandonment. I then demanded my receipt he refused. I then told him if he didn't give me my receipt I would call the police. He then agreed to return the receipt but refused to return my service order form he said he needed to keep it for legal reasons. (theft of my service order).

At this point I'm completely frustrated and with fear of a medical consequence due to my blood pressure I decided to simply walk out.

After a few minutes in my car I returned and demanded my tv. The manager gave me the tv, after I started for the door the manager says to me, "you cancelled the remainder of the warranty", I said to him "I dont have that power you do". He just smiled.
