I attempted to get new customer service and installation on Direct TV. I spent in excess of four hours on the telephone and in the end I was directed to over a dozen people, none of whom was able to enable me to set up new service.
After a week, my installation date was set up and confirmed but when I called to confirm again, I was told that the installation was cancelled, with no contact by them of me. I was also informed that there was a previous billing outstanding from another residence but when I called the billing department they informed me the account was paid in full.
When I went back to customer service to once again ask for help, I asked for a supervisor/manager and I was directed to the manager of the customer help department. She listened to my entire story, apologized for the delays and then told me I had to go back to billing again because the account that their billing department told me was paid in full was not paid. I told her thank you very much but I would no longer endure any more abuse by Direct TV. I called Dish Network.
In less than 12 minutes, they gave me a great deal on set up, a very competitive package, an installation date within a matter of a few days after my telephone call and a name and a number of a personal representative that I could go to if I encountered any problems. Direct TV was one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.
Actually I can say it was the worst experience I have had in my life. They are incompetent, unresponsive, untrained and simply unable to take care of customer needs. They should not be allowed to do business and I feel sorry for their customers.
