This has to be the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I couldn't even get through the installation process (which is probably a blessing).
The installer showed up 7 hours after his expected time of arrival and had the wrong equipment listed on his work order. I made approximately 8-10 calls to DirecTV and was passed around between "Customer Service" and sales and cut off numerous times. My final conversation with a "Customer Service" person was unbelievable: she told me I had changed the equipment order twice and would therefore have to wait two weeks to schedule another installation.
The service technician says they do this all the time. He also said he was available to come back the next day and bring the required equipment, but that DirecTV would have to write a new work order. "Customer Service" refused and said the work order was being cut for another DirecTV franchise. (Apparently they have various franchised installation contractors that work in the same area, and the fact that their truck says DirecTV doesn't mean they are DirecTV employees.)
During the initial sales contact, I was also misled as to what the installation technician would be able to do.
