My phone went dead. I called what I thought was the Verizon store where I set up my account, and Jeff, the agent designed to sell and not hear, would not quit yapping about his knowledge that no towers were down. Since his ability to listen was somehow impaired, I called the 800 number for Verizon. Ah, after all that, my suggestion that a tower was down, turned out to be correct.
I called to let him know, mostly for the nicety of all, but some to tell him I was frustrated with his insitance on talking about my buying a new phone and not that there was a system issue. After I told him it was frustrating, I said calmy, "Have a good day". His response was to say F-you, but without the abbreviation. After my jaw came back up from the floor, I realized that he had hung up the phone.
I called the manager... That is what you are supposed to do, right? They offered no real concern over the incident and outside of calling me a liar, suspected that it did not happen. After a few moments, the now infamous Jeff called me and tried to convince me that none of what I thought about the conversation had actually taken place. At that point I knew, beyond any and all doubt, that Jeff was a liar as well as a bad customer service representative.
Long story short, they don't care. Evidently, since I signed a contract, I am bound by that contract to be treated without respect or regard for my place as a customer. The manager named Anthony actually called me while I was entering this article and he thinks I am obsessing and unbelievable. It must be the whole idea that I found on this website about Cellular Sales of Knoxille not actually hiring anyone. I suppose it is good for them not only because they don't have to be just in paying their employees, as the article I saw on this site suggested, but also because they don't have to take responsibilty for their actions either.
About that... Verizon is just as bad. Because this company is agent based, they will give them big fat signs that say Verizon, but they won't be involved in resolving issues dealing with poor customer service. One person at Verizon was sympathetic and actually giggled when I mentioned Cellular Sales, because in her words, they hear complaints about them all the time.
