My 17 month old 37" Aquos LCD audio does not work. The repair cost is over $500, with no guarantee that it will be fixed.in my opinion, if I spend over $2000 on a TV it should last over 17months. Understanding the warranty is only 1 year, I contact Sharp hoping they would support my cost. They respond with unfortunately there is nothing we can do. If this were an appliance I carry around or physically handle, then I would maybe understand parts breaking over time. But in my opinion, this is a big screen tv sitting on a tv Stand, when the audio board needs to be replaced after 17months, that would mean something is wrong from the manufacturing of the product.
I now have to either spend an additional $500 for the repair or now buy a new tv. I was hoping for support from Sharp, but they got their money and have no interest in the consumer. I'm going back to the Sony TV, very reliable.
