We signed up for Dish Network Services when my father came home from the hospital on hospice services. He had 2 weeks to live. He wanted us to hook up the satellite so he would not be bored while he was confined to his bed. OF course we wanted him to be happy and we called because we received a flyer for this company and it seemed to be a good deal at the time. BOY WERE WE WRONG.
I gave my debit card for the first fee of 49.00 and I was told that I would have no other charges to my account. We had the dish for a few days when we began having trouble and the satellite kept going out and we didnt have service for approx 2 months. Yes 2 months, and there went our free movie channel. They told us the wiring was bad in our home, which is a newer home and the wiring isnt bad here, it ended up being the eye on the Dish and they had to replace the whole dish. It took about 7 visits to our home to finally get our service and this was over a 5 month period. We were lucky if we could watch t. V for 30- 45 minutes a day without it going out. Finally we got that fixed. Then we had some unauthorized channels show up on our bill, and was being charged for more movie channels than what we had. We got a 15 refund to compensate for our trouble.
When the trouble with this company continued I called and asked how much I would have to pay to discontinue our service which we were not happy with. Dan a customer service rep told me it would be 107.00 I had 2 charges in 3 days equaling 259.00 debited from my account and it was definately unauthorized. I have a check out for my van payment, I have 3 children, 2 have birthdays this week, and I also have to get them all into school. They should not take people's money, I have reported them to FTC, and if necessary will contact my attorney. I have little money because I am in school, The only people we can talk to when we call there is foreign, and I cant understand them, and they cant understand me which is convenient for the company. I think all these unauthorized charges need to stop.
