I purchase 2 GPS navigation systems from Best Buy in Amherst, on my way back home I opened one of them to see if everything is ok and it looked great. However when I reached home and opened the second box, I found that the GPS from the box and chargers were missing; instead there was a rock inside the box. I drove back to the store from Canada, 5 hrs to let the store know what they had sold me, and they said its not their issue.
I called the head office from the store and very rudely they said it was not their issue. I also went as far as calling TomTom and they said that it should be delt with Best Buy as I bought it from there. So since no one wants to take any responsibility I get stuck with a $529 rock, which is not gold, silver or diamond. It is ridicules that a huge company like Best Buy does not even care what they sell to the customer.
As far as extended warranty goes, dont even bother, as far as Best Buy was concerned it does not even exist. They will not owner it. I have never seen a bigger rip off company then Best Buy. You cannot open the box in the store because they will charge you a 15% restocking fee so you have to buy it and then open it. Well guess what ever is in there youre stuck with it. The main reason why people spend the extra money to buy from a reputable store is to be sure that they are not being ripped off and yet this company will rip you off and not even care how low they have stooped.
