Is sears personal protection realy worth it Ripoff

I have a jus over 6yr old 54" wide screen projection tv that has been problem free up until recently. I had to call the sears protection program to have them send out a service tec because the picture went all red. The srvice tec informed me that a the red tube had to be replaced. He put the part on order and informed me that once te parts arrives to call in and set up anotherr appointment for him to come back out and replace the parts. Two days lost from work. Its ok, wroth it to have the Tv fixed. Upon replacing the parts and doing color adjustments tec gone. Few days later i notice that the color not right, and a tec has to come back out. New tec adjust the color leave i notice after gone that the color not right. Tried to call the tec dirrect (only few min after he has left) but no answer. Call sears they tell me that their is nothing they can do because the tec has not closed out the work order i have to call back tomorrow. Call back the next day and they tell me that they will send another tec out to adjust the color again. Tec show up for the fourth time (4 days lost from work). The tec informs me that the part is no longer aveable but can be removed and send out for repair 3 to 4 weeks. If i wish i can rent a tv and i will be repayed for the rental coast. This is good but the only place for another tv is on my couch. So only option is no tv for 3 to 4 weeks. I ask about replacement? I am told that a resonable amount of attempts has to be made befor the tv can be replaced. This number of resonable attempts is 4. Now at this point im thinking that i have hit that number with this visit but no... A service attempt means that at part has been replaced. So what i have learned is that i have had 4 visits from sears tec but only one of them was a service call. With the amount that i have lost taking off from work to get this matter taken care of i could have bought a new tv. After doing the math i have figured out that if they are not able to fix the tv and i do make it to that 4 service call i will have lost $3000.00 in wages because of all the time that i will have to take off from work.

So i ask is the warranty realy worth it???
