I bought a Canon Powershot sd700 camera from the company's website on June 20,07. I found the website as a result of a search. I received an email that told me to call their store to confirm my purchase. They put on a high pressure sales pitch to buy way overpriced accessories. He made it sound like the camera wouldn't work without them. I tried to stop the pitch and was told to "shut up and don't interrupt".
When I refused to be swayed I was told the camera was a refurbished model (nothing on the website about refurbished items) and if I still wanted the camera it would be $50 more.
I recognized what was happening and told him I wanted the camera I ordered - new or cancel the order. I was told to "buy it somewhere else then" and he hung up on me. I called my credit card company to report the fraud and stop the transaction. The company was so unethical that I felt it necessary to report my credit card lost/stolen to prevent fraud.
