Thedigitalexpo.com, Scott (the Guy I Talked To At Ex: 207) ripoff, scam, high-pressure sales tactics, rude, dishonest, fraudulent, foreigners, non-american

I attempted to purchase a digital camera from the digital expo because they advertised the cheapest price I could find online for the camera I was interested in. Their website looks legitimate and everything seems to add up. However, they require a phone call to confirm your order.

The guy called me (a foreigner named "scott" at ex: 207) and asked me to return his call to confirm the order, which I did. When I called him back (which was after "store hours" by the way) he answered and said that he was surprised that I hadn't also gotten an extra battery because the one I bought with the camera would only last 15 min. I politely declined to purchase the extra battery at this time and he then became rude while talking to me.

He then told me that the camera I had purchased online was not new; that it was "refurbished" (of course the website says nothing about this while you are actually buying the camera) and said that if I wanted a new camera that there would be an additional fee.
I asked him why this was and said that his website didn't say anything about this, and he told me that the price was "too good to be true" and that if I wanted a new camera I had better pay more.

I again told him that his website said nothing about this and said that I didn't know how the camera could be "refurbished" since it was only released by Olympus 4 months ago. He again demanded very rudely that I pay more so I asked him what the difference between the rufurbished one and the new one was and he hung up on me.

I tried to call them back to no avail. At this point I was pretty freaked out because I realized that a dishonest, scam artist had all my credit card information so I called my credit card company to ask what I should do about it.

Don't buy anything from Digital Expo! They are a high-pressure sales, fraudulent, dishonest company! The best thing you can do is report them to the better business beaureau, and call the companies whose products they sell (like Olympus, Sony, Cannon, etc.) and tell them how digital expo is giving them a bad name!
So much for a relaxing Christmas...
