I recently retired and requested service from BellSouth be transfered to my new location. The representative said BellSouth owed 40% of Cingular and they could send me two (2) cell phones, etc. I told them I had a contract with T-Mobil and was pleased.
The day I moved in I received UPS Delivery Cingular phones. I returned the telephones Jan 16th (have a receipt. Meantime, I switched local phone service to CableOne. I paid final bills for my old and new phone numbers.
I received bills for the $379.00 for the Cingular phones, called the representative, received another bill, called. Received an invoice from GC Services Collections agency - sent a letter with all information, return receipt number, etc. And copied it to all three (3) Credit Agencies.
Today I recived a letter from Omnium Worldwide Collection Service threatening a negative report the the Credit Bureau and make arrangements to immediately pay this debt.
I do not owe this and I have made numerous phone calls and have been put on hold, returned to BellSouth and back again. I want this resolved but I do not know what else to do.
Can you give me some tips?
