M Qube, Mobile Messenger
Fraudulent unauthorized instant messaging billing through sprint ripoff

I recently started receiving text messages on my phone, from SMS number 76284. Thinking them to be prank messages, I deleted them, and to my horror, the SMS's continued. So I called Sprint PCS and was informed that I had "signed-up" for premier SMS service. Apparently somebody must have signed up my number and I was going to be billed $9.99 and $5.99 per month going forward. When I informed them that, in 10-years with Sprint PCS, I had never signed up for anything other than voice plans, they immediately changed their tone. They informed that I was signed up for company called Mobile Messenger and was asked to calling a billing company named M-Qube at (800) 235-7105. As expected it was a automated system, so I reached the web for both companies. M-Qube is based out of Watertown, MA and the contact ifformation is on their website. You can use "contact us" to send them a message to stop SMS service to your phone. It is supposed to take them 2-3 business days to do that. Then I found the website for Mobile Messenger, and contacted their PR person (Amy Dudman - amy. [email protected] 310 895 4184) and who said that Tech support will get back to me. Bottomline is that I am trying to stop this service before I see the first bill. I plan to call the FTC and speak to the State Attorney General's office and file a formal complaint, so that other consumers do not fall prey to such deceptive practices.
