Best Buy Corporation
Ripoff offer free shipping if pickup instore, but will not give paid for item

This is a copy of the complaint I sent to the company: I have a major problem. My problem is that the Best Buy Corporation has stolen $53.29 from me. The following is the last E-Mail I received on-line: I am Dianne with Best Buy Customer Care.

Thank you for contacting Best Buy about Orderxxxxxxxxxxx-
As your order shows that your transmitter was picked and invoiced, we cannot assist you with this matter. Please contact the store regarding this problem.

If anything should change or you should have any questions in the interim, please contact us at anytime for additional assistance. We look forward to your next visit to one of our stores or to www.BestBuy.com.

Thank you,
Dianne

On February 17 I ordered the above mentioned transmitter for my son's birthday which is this Sunday, February 27. I paid for it with gift cards and a Visa debit car. I went to the store to pick it up as I was invited by the Corporation to "save on the shipping" by picking the item up at the store. On February 19th I went to the store in Springfield, MO where I was told I had not paid for the item yet. They proceeded to charge me AGAIN for the item, and I insisted to refund me the 2nd $53.29, which they did. I came home to pull up my order on-line to see where now it states I picked up the item, when I did not. I did not!!! Because the only way they would give it to me was if i paid for it again, which i refused. I have talked to customer service thru the online service two times and been to the store two times, and talked on the phone to customer service at the store once. This is the 2nd E-Mail I have sent. I was at the store to pick up the item on Feb. 19 approx 4pm. The two ladies that waited on me (treated me like I was an idiot trying to rip them off, as has been the case ever since) should remember me due to the heated conversations we had. The problem I have is the on-line people think I picked up the item, and the in-store people do not believe I pd for the item. I see along list of people to send letters to on the right, not to mention the phone call I plan to make to the newspaper tomorrow. Well Diane would be pleased to know nothing has changed. Best Buy still has my money and I have no transmitter. I went to the store again today and spent another excruiating 1&1/2 hours to still be told that I was wrong, and they didn't have proof that I had pd for the item. Tomorrow I will have a transmitter, which I will purchase from Circuit City for my son. I am going to report this to every better business agency that I can find to tell it to. It wasn't so much that Best Buy has made a mistake, but that everyone at Best Buy I have dealt with acts like they can't make a mistake. If this problem gets remedied I want the Gift cards refunded in cash, because I plan to never step foot in another Best Buy store again. And I will tell this story to everyone I can ever think to tell. Someone today I work with said yeah its not like you are working with a struggling business trying to keep going. Your business is booming and obviously my "little" problem is no major deal to you. On-line says "hey, you picked it up", and the store says, "hey we can't chg it that it says you picked it up, besides you didn't pay for it anyway. I am a 49 year old woman with a Master's Degree in Social Work. I work at a major hospital Level 1 Trauma Center. I know what it means to try and help people and customer satisfaction. I am not and never will be in the business of ripping people off or stealing. If I went into one of the stores and took $53.29, I would be picked up by the police in hand cuffs and hauled off to jail. I certainly don't need a lecture from you about the bad people in the world because I see it everyday where I work. I just know me and family are not bad people. We just wanted a FFFFRRREEEAAAKKKIIIINNNNGGGG transmitter for my son's birthday.
