Target was paid online via paypal for an item that cost $535.27. After numerous problems with the shipment, info not available, no shipment confirmations, item lost, UPS's problem (per Target) it finally arrived too late to be useful to me. I returned it to the store where my ONLY option is a gift card for my refund. I understand the policy, but when Target fails to perform and customer service is non-existent, exceptions should be made.
I was standing next to a couple at the store also waiting for a refund on an item purchased on line. Neither of us could get anything but a gift card. Target shipped them the wrong item, Target admitted it was the wrong item, but their customer could only get a gift card! No matter what the reason, or how extenuating the circumstances, no one gets a paypal payment refund except through a gift card. I do not believe that any reputable company does business in this manner. When you make a mistake, step up to the plate, admit it and save your customer. I would advise all internet shoppers to avoid Target.com.
