Double charged my debit card and still said it did not work. I then paid cash, $120 for a $40 giftcard and they will not reimburse me. Ripoff

I went to EB Games on 10/17/05 to purchase a $40.00 gift card. I went to pay using my debit card. I swiped my card through the machine and the girl said it didn't go through, so I did it again, and again she said it didn't go through. So I went to get cash from my atm machine and went back to purchase the card with cash. Then the girl told me that it wasn't my debit card that wasn't working, it was the gift cards that weren'nt working. They had men there working on it all day long to fix the machines.

I then went home and checked my bank statement online. When I checked, it showed EB Games charged my account twice for $40.00, which totaled $80.00. I went and called eb games, and the girl said she will call the corporate office. She then called me back and told me that it will be credited in 3-5 business days, which should have been october 21. And again, it wasn't.

So I called my bank and they told me that EB games should have just swiped my card and refunded my money that way, but they woudln't. So I called EB game's corporate office myself and was told that it will take 5 - 10 working days to refund my money. So why did he tell me 5-10 days and the store told me 3-5 days. So I waited the 10 days, and still no moneey was put back into my account. I just checked again today november 1st and still no money was put back.

I have three young children, and I will not shop at EB anymore, I am going to a different games store here where I live. I have been telling people about what they did, and they aren't shopping there anymore either.
My bank was even appaulled over this. They spoke with EB games also, and couldn't get anywhere themselves. I don't know whatelse to do about this. I just want my money back. I have three children and am disabled.

I feel EB games should treat their customers a lot better and with more respect. They didn't even offer to compensate me with a $10.00 gift card or anything for all the time I spent working on getting my money back.
