Beware Best Buy ripoff return policies are deceptive and misleading to consumers

I had puchased a HP notebook from Best Buy for my son to take to college. I bought the service plan for an extra $249.99, along with many accesories. I returned the HP notebook only 3 days after purchasing the computer. It kept freezing up and would not allow us to shut down, enter Outlook Express, or enter MSN messenger.

After checking the computer for a whopping 5 minutes, hooked up to Best Buys internet service provider, the "specialist" told us we needed to configure Outlook Express and MSN. I told him I would if I could get into Outlook Express and MSN. I also told him the laptop would shut down for 1 and 1/2 hours. Hitting Cntl, alt, delete did not even work. He then insisted it was our internet service provider. I told him our other computer @ home was functioning just fine. The specialist then became very rude and short stating there was nothing wrong and that they could send the "Geek Squad" out for another $160.00. I told them I had bought the warranty to which they replied "does not cover this problem". He then offered to replace the computer with another. I told him I had previously been told there is no more of these computers in any of the stores. I told him I wanted my money back. I am not going to deal with someone who is snotty and rude to me and calls me a liar. I asked if he would like to pay 1900.00 for a toy that did not work. He then proceeded to charge me a 15% restocking fee because the computer worked "in their store", I was unable to get a refund back for the softwear they installed such as Norton, Spy sweeper, etc., I was charged for Best Buy labor, I was charged for my extra disks I had to have made to back-up my system, plus I was charged the amount of my rebates of 250.00 with no guarantee I would get the rebates back when they arrived. Total to return the laptop which did not work in my home... 650.00.

Why can't a class action lawsuit be brought against these unfair business practices, by they big time retail giants, who rip the consumers off every day with their unfair store policies, that you need a magnifying glass to read? I will never spend another cent in a Best Buy store again.
