Ripped off by customer sales Sacramento

Hi

Just recently I got over charged by outrages prorate Charges.

Since Cingular asked us to pay for the bill in advance and I am still being charged with prorated minutes when I upgrade my services this is un reasonable.

Me and my wife has decided to combine our phone services into family plan. And was told by the sales person that will save money for us since we get more minutes and cost less with a family plan.

At the end of the billing Cycle. I got a bill of $1669.00

So I called back and asking where does the extra charge came from?

They told me because I changed the plan before my billing cycle and some of the calls are prorated. I told them I already paid each month in advance how could this happen and I was assured by the sales person that I will not be getting any charges for this. The customer service never explained why just keep telling me this is the way the computer works. I paid the full month fee from 3/16/05 to 4/16/05 and I am being charged pro rate from from 3/22/05 to 4/5/05.

This is a big time rip off. And I have called many times to straight things out and they always say will call me back and never called me back. So, I kept calling and finally reached an agreement to on an amount of $500.
I paid the $470 and now my next bill comes up. I am still being charged $1669 - $500 current monthly fee. Then I called back and asked a customer service person Named Ambra she told me there are no record of any adjustments. At this point, she reassure me that on Monday that her supervisor will call me back which I doubt. At this point I don't know what to do. Asking for advise.

Billing error: Cingular will double charge your airtime minutes when you upgrade, combine phone plans. I have my itemized paper bills as proof.

The point of the story is dishonesty of their employee. 1. The sales person did not mention any prorated charges when upgrading plans. Lied to us when we switch now it will save us money.

Side note:
When I asked a customer service person, "Do you think customer should pay the price of a mistake by your employee?" Cingular customer service, "Yes, thats too bad." and hung up on me.

I will countinue to call cingular and contact my local consumer protection agency and local government and media to report this story.
