Read all this. It's usefull for everyone. Everyone who got ripped from Cingular wireless.
I want you to read this carefully to the end and someone should do something.
I had a very bad experience with cingular. I got my contract on October and it was a good deal supposely. The first bill was about 130 USD my plan was 39.99 for 800 minutes. I called cingular asking about this invoice and I told them that some people was calling the number I got all the time so that might be the reason for hte high bill. (They said that they hold the number for 3 month then they sell it to the customer) which is not true. So they reduced my bill down to 90 USD.
Few month later my friend borrow my phone and he use to pay all the bill for the time he use it. One of the bill was 271.00 because he went over minutes. He has 600 anytime 1700 minutes rollover and they said that he went over minutes and I got that bill and I could do nothing they always find nice excute so you can't talk or give you opinion.
Then onother friend got the same phone line from me. He never went over time but his bill was always 72 - 75 USD. 39.99 plan insurance and the bills were always hig for no reason. Even thought if you try to understand the bill it will be mission impossible.
This is the worst experience. Read please and be sure you don't get into the same trap.
My friend asked cingular to suspend the line for sometime and cingular agreed after they told him that it's 10 USD per month.
After 3 month which is the maximum time to suspend the line for any reason he got the bill of around 150.00 USD and when he called them they said that their policy, even if you suspend or freeze the line you have to keep paying the same service fee without getting the minutes not even adding them to the rollover minutes. He kept calling til he got to the headquarter after 22 calls of fighting and arguing. After all this fights they didn't refund a penny. The only thing they did after filling a dispute that they give him the 1800 minutes that he got charged to.
The last STORY which all of you should be aware of it.
I got some information from a cellphone dealer which they sell cellphones and open accounts for most of the companies.
I asked the lady about the problem that cingular having with the very high bills to most of the people.
She said that she got the information from one of the customer REPS.
THAT & when you try to make call from cingular account, you get charged for a full minute after 30 second if no one picked up the phone. AND you get charged for 2 mintues for less than one minute duration call and you get charge for 3 minutes for everything over 1 minute. That only when you make the call like the first few minutes of the call then after that you get charged for a regular minutes.in other word CINGULAR are charging a connection fee in addition to the regular minutes you use. That is very dangerous.
Some people complained, argue and dispute with cingular and they get small amout of what they are fighing for. BUt the most of the people they don't have the time or the ability to do anything so they pay their bill with or without knowing that CINGULAR IS RIPPING OFF all the account holders and EVERYONE.
I'm having an account with another GSM carrier too. I never got ripped cause they are clean.
Don't forget that when you sign up for cingular they charge you one month in advance and even when you close your account after your contract is done they still charge for the last moth you are using in full.
Here is a small comparison for a GSM company VS. Cingular.
GSM i'm having now. (1000 minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, 500 Txt message, insurance, unlimited wireless internet service, unlimeted mobile to moble.) All this I never paid more than 82 USD.
Cingular (600 minutes, 500 night and weekends, insurance) 74 USD.
People, friends, you decide now why you are ripped off from cingular.
Shouldn't someone have an action against this big Scam Ripoff company.
I still have all the invoices since I got my account from cingular. And it shows what I'm talking about..
