After about an hour of negotiatios on price to purchase a 65in Hitachi projection HDTV, salesman gave us a time in which to return with payment and way of transporting it ourselves. There was absolutely NO MENTION by the salesman or manager about placing any money down on this before we left.
An hour and a half later, we returned after arranging transporting this article ourselves and the money only to be told it had been sold to someone else. I also mention that several other sales people at this location were aware of this transaction. Our salesman told another that we would be returning at a specific time. We were angry with what had happened to us and left. I wrote a letter of complaint to the corporate headquarters and received a call from the District Manager the next day. He started the conversation with not "I am sorry for the confusion or whatever... instead he started out by saying it is the company's policy to have a downpayment of some sort at which I told him nothing was mentioned about it... in short, we were still called LIARS at which point he stated that he would call two other locations quite a distance from here and see if there was another set.
I then said that we would only pay on the original agreed price at which he then stated that there was no mention of that in the first place. Again, being called a liar. He promiced to return the call the following day at my workplace... He never did. We were treated like dirt all of this time EXCEPT for the visit of our negotiating the price and final agreement.
On the flip side of this I wish to report this:
Doug went on his own to the ABC Warehouse location at Farmington Hills two days after the call to us, and dealt only with a Mr. Soulat Bashir who went out of his way to make us happy. He was very patient and professional. We ended up with a much better product at a better bargain price AND was delivered Christmas Eve morning with professional deliverymen.
This individual needs to be commended for his dedicated efforts in making sure purchasers are fully satisfied in all phases or a purchase. We will in the future, only deal with Mr. Bashir and never step foot in the Jackson Michigan location again.
