Lynn Smith Auto
Lynn Smith obviously sold a piece of junk and should try to make it right. Ripoff!

Adrianne Sanchez purchased a car from your location on 3000 E Lancaster Ave in Ft Worth in August of this year. She traded in her 1991 Ford Escort GT, was given $800 for it and was sold a 1997 Chevy Cavalier by your Salesman Francisco.

Two weeks after she purchased it, it had to be taken back as the transmission went completely out. Your Staff kept it for approx 3-4 days and a rebuilt transmission was put in. It was not more than 2 weeks later that she had to take it back due to the Alternator going out, a used one was put in and the car was kept again for 2 days. Just prior to that different lights kept coming on the entire time she had it and I myself called and tried to explain it to have their Mechanic give it a thorough check to avoid having to bring it back.

Finally, the car completely died on her a couple of weeks later and it was towed to the location. I kept calling for an entire week & a half to see what the intention was and was finally told by your Sales Manager, Dave Goyne that they were not going to put anymore money into it and she could come back to pick another car with zero down. This was all in only as short of a time as a month and a & when you take and add how long it was back in your lot, she only drove the car for about 3 weeks as the rest of the time was spent at your car lot's garage.

My daughter's second & last payment (that she had the car) was short $80 and during the last wk to two it was parked at your location, another payment came due. Dave stated they were not going to put anymore money into fixing this car and told me she could come back to pick out another car but not until she paid the $280.00 ($80 plus another pmt of $200) with zero down. She was gathering this money to take to Dave & we were to move forward.

What I know made the final decision that changed our minds about doing anymore business with your Staff was when we discovered the Cavalier was put back on the lot FOR SALE. He could not get it fixed for her but would do it to sell to someone else. Please explain to me where this is fair business to you.

Because of all this happening, I did not want her to go back and purchase another car from Lynn Smith Auto. I have been trying numerous times to get in contact with your sales Manager (Dave Goyne) and have left him messages but he does not return my calls. I am told he is not there for one reason or another but the main one seems to be he spends a lot of time at the Auctions. I know he is avoiding me and he knows why.

The last call I made I spoke with Frank the Salesman who sold her the Cavalier and told him we would not be buying another car from your Lot. He said he would relay this to Dave & have him call me back. Again, I have yet to hear from him.

I'll put it simply, I am asking either the trade-in car is returned back or the trade-in money. I am very much aware she bought the car AS IS with no extended warranty but with these many problems in such a short time, any business person should have some clue that she was obviously sold a piece of junk and should try to make it right. The trust was certainly no longer there to purchase another vehicle from your location after all this.

I fully understand you are not in business to lose money but when you take into account her trade is gone, what money she gave for the short time she had it is gone and the car that gave us all frustration is back on the lot to sell and may have sold already. I'm not sure about that but the bottom line is Lynn Smith Auto gets the best end of the whole deal while she is left out in the cold. Where is justice in all this? She is only 20 years old, anyone who has a teenage daughter or son would relate as to how nave they can be and how they are taken advantage of. I was not there with her at the time of purchase but her dad was who knows very little to nothing about cars.
