Unbelievable! I paid $335 to go on a trip to Sea World in San Diego, CA. The money was to be used for lodging, meals, and transportation. I asked repeatedly for our distinguished leader, Donna Smith, to provide an itinerary and an expense report. Everytime I talked with this woman about the details of our trip, they changed! Where we are staying, How we are getting there, what we are eating, what day we are leaving, what time we are leaving, how much this is costing. This woman was like a fish on land with my $335 in her gill.
Donna delivered a finalized trip itinerary to my home at 11 pm the night before our trip. According to the trip itinerary we were leaving in 10 hours. (News to me) To cut to the point I didn't leave for San Diego with the rest of the group. I left my home in PHX drove to San Diego with my kids and arrived at the Sea World Park.
Unfortunately, I was unaware of the time change that AZ does not participate in and arrived 15- 20 minutes behind the rest of the troop. No sweat I am thinking, I had talked with Donna numerous times in the past few hours she agreed to meet up with me at the front gate when I arrived and was completely aware I was within 2 miles of the park. Plus I had the itinerary! I could see for myself where my daughter's GS troop was, and locate them myself.
Guess what, she disregarded the itinerary, avoided my phone calls, and ditched me at the park. 3 hours, 20 phone calls later. She finally agrees to meet me and never shows up.
By chance, I found Donna outside a restroom, I wanted what money I had left back. She angrily refunds $100 and threatens to call security on me unless I leave her and the others alone.
Donna, by my calculations you owe me $85 dollars still.
I was shocked by your verbal abuse of me in front of my daughter, I am shocked you ditched me on a trip I paid for! I am shocked any of this happened! You should immediately be removed from any leadership roles in the Girl Scouts, you should finally provide an expense report, you should return my money, and you should apologize to me and my daughter. You are a twisted woman. BEWARE Do not send your daughters to her troop.
I reported this matter to the GS council and have yet to receive a follow up call. My experience with Scouts was horrendous to say the least and I was RIPPED OFF by Donna Smith!
