I called Dell's Educational Division to inquire about the special promotions running on their website. The CSR on the phone was very helpful and told me that I am (my university) eligible for the 3 rebates currently showing totaling up to $510.00. He further stated that if I were to order "today", I was actually eligible for 5 rebates, totaling up to $710,6 if I chose to purchase the 3 year warranty as there was a $50 rebate on that.
It has been MONTHS since I submitted my rebates, and today I haven't receive them yet. 2 of my friends (also in the same university) had already received them. I went to rebatestatus.com and realised 2 of the rebates were rejected! I believed DELL is dishonest, trying to with-hold the payment. They should honor their rebates.in short, never trust DELL. It pays to trust brands like HP, compaq, toshiba, etc.
