My complaint is exactly the same against these people/company as Tracy from Morgan Hill. I had enrolled my daughter in their program and had a contract with them. Paid them a lot of money - and then they breached the contract. Everything Tracy stated was true in my circumstance.in April I received a letter similar to Tracy's email - The letter stated:
'JRP Corporate has requested that we relinquish the franchise to them, in effect rescinding our ability to do business under the JRP name and to continue servicing JRP students. JRP Corporate will be assuming responsibility for all aspects of your program. Should you have questions about this change and the details of ongoing programs, please call JRP Corporate at (702) 430-8683. Ron Patterson, owner of JRP Corporate, or his staff will be happy to assist you.'
I never received any emails from Steve Thompson. I called numerous times to corporate office and left numerous messages and got the run around. They stated that someone will contact me and that I would get an email for confirmation. For several weeks no one called me. I continued to call constantly without any luck. At times, the line would just ring and ring and other times I left messages. After several weeks of waiting I finally called JRP corporate (702) 430-8683 who gave me the phone #408-554-2943 where I got an answering machine greeting: This number is not being answered at this time, please try your call again later. Finally, I received a message on my voice mail stating that classes were starting up and that there would be a parent meeting that Saturday. It was too short notice and I couldn't make it. I called numerous times back and finally received a call, the representative stated that classes resumed a few weeks ago and that my daughter could attend that weekend, she stated that I would receive an email to confirm all this. I never received any emails. I had forgotten to get the address of the new location and called at least 20 times on Friday and that Saturday without any return call. An answering service would pick up the phone and stated they did not know the address. I was very upset and thus my daughter did not attend the class for that Saturday. On Monday I called corporate office and blew off steam about how they did not return phone calls, did not email info as promised. The rep referred me to Steve Thompson. After an exasperated conversation with him, and telling him that I was upset I had paid a lot of money to them and yet they were incompetent in communication, and never returned phone calls. He stated that he did not receive any monies from me. At that time I learned that he was teaching the students and not getting paid for it. I find it very hard to believe that he would take on hundreds of students and yet not get compensated for it? There has to be a catch. I told him I wanted to sue the company for breach of contract and he encouraged me to do so. He was not very helpful in explaining the situation though. Not even the corporate office.
I did call Robinson Pozoz's old number, and the receptionist picked up the phone and answered with another agency name. I asked her if they used to be John Robert Powers and after some hesitation, stated that they "might" have been.
So this company has scammed us by getting our money, breached the contract, and have started a new agency - to scam others. The parent company is no better. No one has given us a straight answer as to the situation and our remedies.
I think the victims in this case should file a complaint with the District Attorney and look into a class action law suit... The companies should be prevented from continuing with their scam and taking other innocent people's hard earned money.
