Answered a radio advertisement for auditions for children to "Be on a show like Hannah Montana, etc. Only 200 auditons available. We call and are given a time to come. We arrive and there are several thousand, that should have been my first clue. My daughter auditions and we recieve a call back the next day... Come and reaudtion. My daughter is accepted into program, must pay $5900.00 immediatly. Paid for a one year program for my now very excited daughter. Attend 3 (1 per month) classes and are now informed that the owner just filed bankruptcy and we are out the money we paid.
I just found my reciept and called the # on it, and the phone was answered by a gal stating "John Robert Powers"!!! I am dumbfounded. I believe that we were duped... So many things did not add up... We were ripped off. Can someone help us fight this injustice? I would never have paid and allowed my daughter to attend If I had known that this was another John Robert Powers.
Will we recoup the money that we paid?
