Ocwen FSB; telephone harrassment, payment posting delays, threatening slow prossessing...
I just hung up the phone with OCWEN, our home mortgage payment is due no later than the 17th of this month, which if I am correct is four days from now being that it is the 13th of the month but as usual the harrassing calls have already started. Our payment is due on the 1st but we have a 16 day grace period under our loan, we have only been late with Ocwen once when my husband separated from his employer and had to get another job.
Even then we were only 2 weeks past the grace period before it was paid in full, late fees and all but they called and harrassed us anyway everyday. They call 2-3 times a day everyday starting on the 2nd of the month if they payment is not there and it is not even late until the 17th!!! I get so sick and tired of it. When we asked them why they call when the payment is not even late the say it is an automatic dialing system and they cannot prevent the calls from going out.
When we called and let them know about my husband's employment situation and that the payment would be late... They told us that we still owed the late fee, that we needed to speed pay over the phone for an additional $10 fee as well. Now if my husband is unemployed how do you think we can afford to pay you an extra $10 for the speed pay??? We said we would send a check and the guy went crazy and said it was "their" money and they needed to get it from us. Now mind you we had never been late prior, and were not late when we called to advise them about his unemployment situation and this is the treatment we received???
Within 3-4 days after the phone call we received a certified letter from Ocwen's attorneys that we now had to send October and November housepayments via Cashier's Check or Money Order and include a $95 attorney's fee in that amount. We were only 1 month behind (for October) but we had to send that payment plus one that was not even due yet and attorney's fees!!! I was soooooooo angry. I am glad that there are others here. I am so for joining a lawsuit against the company. I cannot wait for my husband to get in so I can show him this website and he can see that others are going through the same things as we are.
