Dropped after 12,000.00 worth of business transacted

Being a cardholder of the American Express Card I felt there should have been steps taken to give myself, the cardholder, some lienency as to the benefits of card ownership. I was dropped from card holdership in January. My life was predicated by the use of the American Express Card as it allowed me to put gas into my vehicle which I depend upon to get to work. My daughter is also a semi professional athlete and a national champion at her craft, Artistic Roller dance. The card allowed me to make hotel reservations and helped with fuel on our trips to the competitions in the various surrounding states. The card was tied to EZ Pass.

The card was very important to me imparting a sense of security. I made purchases for my daughters craft, skates, bearings outfits and other related items. I bought items for myself using the card. I realised this was a card you had to pay when the bill arrived and I paid in full. Last year I transacted approximately 12,000.00 with the card and by years end I was paid in full. 6000.00 was in fuel alone. The balance was sports items for my daughter and travel costs and food for the coaches. My problem was that my pay period went from weekly to twice a month. My ability to make payments was skewed because of this and even though I contacted AMEX to inform them of matters pertaining to payment. I called every time. I paid as I was required to do. AMEX decided to check into my disasterous credit report and set me on a credit limit on my unlimited card. I felt that was fair enough, but I feel our relationship over the past seven years had been without incident and showed responsibility and respect for the fact that when the bill was presented it was to be paid and it was paid.

I feel that in these pecarious financial times that a persons performance should be worth more than a credit report. The offending accounts were seven years old or more. I am a changed man and deserved the chance to continue on with AMEX even with a credit line. I'm mad as hell about this and the inconvienence AMEX has caused me. I tried to do the right thing and once again big business forces folks to consider other means to get the consideration they deserve.
