I have been an American Express cardholder for over 20 years. I have held both the Gold card and currently the Blue card. I have an excellent credit histrory. Credit score normally around 750. I almost always pay my balance in full because I have the money and becuase I don't like paying finance charges.
I just racked up about $5000 on the card due to a vacation. Entire bill was paid in full as soon as I received it in the mail. 2 days later I went to use the card and it was declined!!! I don't know what the hell they are trying to do at AMEX but I really think Lawyers need to be involved here. They did not inform me my card was cancelled nor did they have a reason it was cancelled.
American Express seems to be trigger happy. They do not have any idea how much money I have in home equity, savings, personal investments or retirement accounts. They made a foolish mistake. I will Never use them again as I have made them a lot of money over the years. They treated me like dirt when I called them to complain. Please contact me on any class action lawsuit as I am very interested. DO not make a mistake and sign up for American Express!!!
