Ms Williams And Supervisor Mr Emerson Rude, disrespectful to soldier in Iraq and harrassing on already paid up bill

I've just had the absolute worst conversation with a supervisor named Mr Emerson. His statement to me was "if your son had paid his bill on time like he was supposed to then he wouldn't have to be dealing with a collection agency!". I said his issues with the bill had already been worked through with Alltel and that I was handling it because he was in Iraq. He said "it's a civilian issue, whether he's in Iraq or not and you still have to pay the remaining balance. If you want to dispute it, you'll have to send in a dispute letter and we'll take it from there."

I was completely appalled that he had the nerve to criticize my son, who he knows nothing about and who's fighting in a war zone (in Iraq) and would show no amount of understanding in allowing me to explain to him the details of the entire call.

My issue with them was not in the fact that my son owed this bill from the beginning. My issue was that he was basically calling me a liar on what i was telling him. On Nov 1st, I received a call from First Assurance (Ms Williams) stating I needed to pay the $595.56 owed on the account. I told her alltel had a -$400 credit so the amount remaining would be $195.56. She said ok, I gave her my son's debit card and all was good.

The next morning, i get a call back from her, very annoyed and she said the card had been declined. I called the bank & found it'd been declined because First Assurance entered the wrong expiration date. Called her back, told her this & she said they'd run it through again with the correct exp date.

Anyway, to make a long story short, they ran it again with the incorrect exp date, told me I had to give them a check from a different account, I called the bank again to chew them out, they said 1st Assurance kept entering wrong exp date but that the funds were already being drawn. I called Ms Williams back, told her this & she said they'd destroy the check information and send confirmation via mail that the account was paid up. I just now (this past Fri) received a letter from 1st assurance offering a 80% settlement in the amount of $360. I called Alltel who said they'd contact 1st assurance. I called 1st assurance who "assured" me they'd be contacting me again until this account was paid up... Even though I don't owe anything at all!
