I had a bill with American Express and due to delinquency, they referred me to a collection agency, First Revenue Assurance. After much hassling and continuous phone calls, I agreed to a monthly payment to be withdrawn from my checking account once a month on the same date. I was finally able to settle the bill so I did a payment over the phone and I was told it was important that I keep an eye out for a letter stating the bill had been settled. After a week and no letter, I called again and was told the guy I dealt with prior, was no longer with the company but that they would send out the letter.
It's now been two and a half weeks and not only have I not received a letter, money was deducted from my checking account from First Revenue THREE WEEKS after I paid off the bill. I called and asked why this was done and they had no explanation but told me I had to send them proof that they took money out. Not only was the person I dealt with extremely rude and unprofessional, but I never even received an apology for something THEY did. I was PROMISED that my account would not be debited after I paid off the bill... But obviously, that wasn't the case. I immediately faxed my bank statement showing the money was withdrawn and we'll just see how long it takes for my account to be credited.
Oh and did I mention that two other checks bounced because First Revenue withdrew money without me knowing? Now how much is all this really costing me by the time I pay the fees to the bank and repay the people that received a bad check. I am REALLY ticked off!
