Fraud - Bait & Switch - False Advertising FRAUD!

Purchased a $ 1,300.00 Designjet printer AFTER asking HP if they had one that would do what I need: Print photos in Black and White only AND use Pigmented inks.

They said the their Designjet 130 would do the job. I purchased it. Within two days, I learned that it did not do the job, printed Black and White with Magenta and Green thrown in, and used DYE inks, NOT PIGMENTS.

I asked for a refund or another machine, they refused and told me that they would help me do what I wanted with that printer. You cannot return anything to a manufacturer like HP without an RMA number which they refused.

Subsequent phone calls over a period of two years resulted in no solution, but cost me an additional $ 800.00 or so in trying solutions they suggested but would not pay for.

I have since learned that HP NEVER had such a printer available when I purchased it, they only started to make them about a year ago, they simply lied to me, they could not have sold me what I needed, they did not make it, only EPSON did at the time.

Now, even with the so called help of the local BBB, they refuse to make good with the printer that is finally available and does what I asked for two years ago.

I repeat, HP did not have nor make the printer that I was asking for, I don't know if it's fraud or bait and switch, but they told me one thing and sold me another, it simply DID NOT EXIST at the time, they should have said so and now that it does exist, they refuse to make good, they have cost me more money than the machine now costs.

BTW, the California Attorney General refuses to get involved and the BBB is useless.

There is a woman at HP customer service who knows all about this issue, I spoke to her early on and she suggested to HP that they replace my printer with one that works, they promptly transferred her and when I called, forbade me to ever speak to her again!

I have her first name and the Fax telephone number where I reached her and no longer can as well as the name of the woman who first sold me the machine and knows the parameters as well.
