We received a collection letter from Afni on behalf of Verizon Communications. The phone number on the account is a residential number no longer connected in my husand's hometown - where he has not lived in more than 10 years!
We have verified with Verizon that we have never been a customer of theirs and are trying to get proof to send along with our dispute letter that we will be sending off to Afni, Inc. We are also filing claims with the BBB, the FTC, and the Consumer Protection Agency. We have tried to contact Afni and can not get through on the phone or via email. (Big Surprise!)
What I do not understand is how a business that has so many complaints against it can still be considered legitimate and allowed to operate. They are ripping people off! Good luck to everyone who is battling this demon!
