I am an former employee of RAGE, Pizza Hut from Sylva, North Carolina. From the time that I walked through they're doors back in December and was employed there, it was one nightmare after another. I was employed as an Delivery Driver / Cook when my employment first began.

Earlier this year I believe that it was in January of there was a scandal of drugs, alcohol, etc. Going on in the store which was reported by another former employee to the main office. Which in turn was reported to Lenny Furman District Manager of the Raleigh RAGE Inc. Office in North Carolina. All fine and dandy there, NOT so at all. Many of the employees there were involved in these incidents, reported to the main corporate office by an consumer. Managment at the time was NOT fired but resigned because of the embarrassment of the scandal. What happened was true and has continued since that incident and has gotten worse as the year has gone on.

A new General manager was to be put into the store in March of to be trained by another man named Dean from the Waynesville, North Carolina Pizza Hut. Dean stayed for about a month until the new manager was trained. The origional crew which of some were involved with the scandal and others such as myself who WERE NOT involved with the going's on, were either fired or quit. Some had put in they're 2 weeks notices, were told by Dean they were fired, and other deserved to be fired for some of they're actions. I for one stuck with Pizza Hut through this transition because I had felt sorry for Dean at the time because people were quitting, getting fired, etc...

I was a nervous wreck both mentally and emotionally this whole time of the transition, for fear of losing my job as well. I had discussed with the previous managment that had hired me of possibly becoming the new store manager a few times, had discussed it with other crew members to see how they had felt about it and everyone ecxept for Lenny Furman was okay with the idea. Dean had talked alot of garbage to Lenny Furman about me for some reason, what exactly was said I have no clue, but from that point on Lenny Furman had made it a point of NOT liking me, because of what Dean had said to him. I have 3 children to support and feed and am an single parent, so Pizza Hut was our ONLY income.

Before the OLD managment resigned I was put on day shifts as strictly an COOK because I was having trouble with my vehicle and couldn't afford taking a day off to put it into the shop to fix it. Even when I DID request days off to put my vehicle into a shop to have repairs made I was yelled at, my job was threatened and they made me feel guilty about it.By Pizza Hut code, every vehicle MUST be maintained in operable, safe, code, etc... Manner. I could NOT do this and therefore had to drive my vehicle is the condition it was in so I wouldn't lose my job. Now because of this my vehicle is sitting in my front yard, inoperable because it was driven into the ground because of Pizza Hut.

Now my children and myself have to rely upon public transportation, which is NOT always availiable. Carl Giddens aka WOODY from the Cherokee, North Carolina Pizza Hut was hired by Lenny Furman to become the new Assistant manager of the Sylva store. I worked my butt off to say the least at this store and Carl had recommended me to Bob the new General manager of the Sylva store for managment despite what Lenny Furman had thought about me.

I got the position, trained for it and after a few months things started going down hill at the store again. There were somedays that myself and one other employee had to run the store by ourselves, we had to turn down deliveries because we had no driver, we lost customers there. I was NOT scheduled enough employees to help run the store most days.

I tried talking to Lenny Furman about these things when I couldn't get any answers from upper managment, the man snubbed me, continued to hate me and would NOT return calls from me about these issues. Our stock was under ordered, so alot of the times we had to go to local stores and purchase extra items in order to fill customer orders. We also had to put items such as Green Peppers, Onions and Mushrooms that were spoiled onto customer orders. If we threw them out, we were yelled at for food costs. I will NOT serve a customer something that I would NOT eat myself, it was gross, disgusting and customers were complaining.

I would also recieve complaints from customers as well as other employees regarding Carl Giddens aka WOODY and his behaviors at the store with another employee. I kept my mouth shut for the longest time about these issues, talked with my crew about it, asked the crew to express they're concerns to our GM about it, but everyone but me was scared to stand up for our store and say something about it. I believe in open and honest communication, both in the professional world as well as my private life. I do NOT like a liar and a thief, nor will I tolerate this type of behavior. That is why I was hired as an Shift Leader to begin with.

Carl and I got along, didn't always agree upon things, but that is life, we had a business to run. After awhile Carl started accusing me of manipulating the time clocks and changing my hours around, I did NOT have the codes to do so, nor was I going to ask for them. I was also accused by Carl of NOT showing up when I was scheduled to open the store and run day shift, that was a lie. Carl would take the other employee into the cooler at work often and they would both be in there for awhile. The girl claimed that she could ONLY work one day a week, but would continuously show up, call and want free lunches when she was off the clock.

A friend of this girl confessed to her that she was indeed meeting Carl in the cooler, doing innappropriate things with him in the cooler at work. They would flirt with each other in front of other employees and customers, which I find that FRATERNIZATION is the work place is illegal and considered sexual harrassment, but yet the girl returned the favors.

After awhile Carl started yelling at me, demanding things from me along with acussing me of things I was NOT doing, telling me I was a slacker, a liar, etc... Every employee including myself was intimidated by this man, which was and is wrong. He had a hot temper and wouldn't hesitate to show it and made working at Pizza Hut miserable as well as unbearable. I hung in because of my children while Carl thought it was funny.

Well come June 20th I had a talk with Bob the GM about everything because I couldn't take it no more. He talked with Carl and the next day while I was working, Carl came in screaming at me about this, told me to stay out of his personal business, told me to go out back of the store. He continued yelling at me outside of the store, calling me a liar and many other things as well. I told him to keep his personal business out of the store because it wasn't the place for it, nor was it professional what he was doing. After he finished ranting and raving, he screamed at me to clock out because he refused to work with me.

I called Bob, he didn't return my calls, so I finished my paperwork, clocked out and called Bob and told him I was going home because of Carl. I got home called Bob yet once again and after a few hours got an response from him.in the meanwhile waiting for that respose Carl proceeded to harrass me on my cell phone, telling me not to worry about my job because I didn't have one anymore. The response from Bob was that Lenny Furman had fired me and didn't want me back in the store ever again.

In short after this detailed message here, I was NOT the ONLY one harrassed by Lenny Furman, Dean and Carl. These men have no idea of what running an honest business is all about, all they care about it the pay check and forget about the employees and the customers. Bob was a good manager who got caught in the middle of all of this BS. I got caught in the middle of all of this BS and fired for being honest and moral. I thought that's what employers really wanted, honest, moral and hard working individuals, boy was I wrong!

Now as an former employee and consumer once again, the crap at Pizza Hut continues. My oldest son had his birthday this past weekend on Auguat 5th, Domino Pizza didn't have what we wanted so we called Pizza Hut for food. It took 3 hours to have our food delievered, the NEW store manager Melissa was rude and obnoxious about the whole thing. We had to call 3 times to see where our food was and no answers about it. After the 2nd. Hour Melissa calls me back and tells me that I HAVE to call HER driver and give him directions, directions to my home that were given in specific when the food was ordered.

It was Melissa's responsibility to take care of her crew as well as her customers and she was doing neither. When the food finally got here, it was cold and wrong, so we called the store back to let them know about it. So they put us in the system to have our next order entirely free of charge because of the mess up, that was fine and justified. So this evening (August 10th) I call Pizza Hut once again to have that ordered re-made and delivered, Melissa was snotty about it again, refused to remake the wings we had ordered which was the wrongly made part of our order. I asked to have it delievered and she said that they would and it would take 45 minutes to get here.

All was fine, NOT. I had to call the store yet once again an hour and a half after the re-make delivery order was placed to find out where our food was. Pizza Huts excuse was that they couldn't deliver it because they didn't want it to be late again. Wrong, they were just too lazy to drive 15 minutes across town to deliver food that was they're wrong doing to begin with. Melissa lied, she could have told me while I was on the phone placing the order that it couldn't be delivered, she also could have called back and told me that it couldn't be delievered.instead she was irresponsible in doing so. So now yet once again I have dissappointed children because of Pizza Hut. If we would have had an operable vehicle to pick the food up, we would have, but we had to rely upon delivery, but no thanks to Pizza Hut, we couldn't do that.
