Earley Tractor
Inc. Blew up engine and then kept lawn tractor for expense of repairs

I would like to submit my story to you concerning a Ford riding lawn mower that Earley Tractor in Cameron, Missouri has that belongs to us. I feel like because my husband had a massive stroke 6 years ago and I am a woman that they have taken total advantage of me in my vulnerable situation.

Here is my story for which the Better Business Bureau did nothing and I understand that they can only do so much. But I just wonder how many other people Earley Tractor has taken advantage of. Even the new tractor that we have that is very low hours and well maintained has had many problems, many that are very unsafe, like not stopping., and they charged A FORTUNE to fix it and it still does not work right and never did. But I was afraid to take it back to them for fear they would destroy the engine like they did the lawn tractor and try to keep it for repairs or takng it a part and putting it back together.

On several different occasions we have had Earley Tractor repair our lawn tractor that is a Ford 18 horse model. This tractor has very low hours of use and has been maintained perfectly by my husband and myself. It only has about 450 hours on it and for the money we paid for it new and the money we have spent in repairs, this is outrageous.
In June of 1998 my husband paid Earley Tractor to put an entire new transmission in it when it only had a little over 200 hours on it. This cost $1367.00. The transmission continued to leak and slip. He also spent $135 in 1998 because the brakes went out.in 1999 it needed an ignition, in 2000 it needed a drive shaft ($652.00), in it needed a fuel pump and starter to the tune of another 3 or 4 hundred dollars. Now they have it because the transmission was leaking profusely which they charged a fortune to fix and tell me that I need a whole new motor for $1200. I said, "NO WAY!" Now they want to keep the whole tractor and not fix it for the money for taking it apart.

These people are crooks and because my husband had a stroke in 2000 they have literally taken advantage of me. My husband bought a new New Holland 33 just before he got sick and when it only had 42 hours on it, they charged me $625.52 to fix several things on it that should have been covered under warranty.

Please help, now I have no lawn tractor and cannot afford the $1200 to fix the other one that they are holding hostage. The motor that they want to replace was working fine when I sent it up there to have the leaky transmission fixed and then all of a sudden they ruin the motor and want $1200 more to fix it. There seems to be no end to the charges on this little tractor.

They have had my tractor over a year now and all I want is it back like it was when I sent it up there, no messed up moter and what they told me last fall was that they wanted to keep it for the fee of tearing it down (tearing it up). I feel I would be insane to put any more money into this tractor with Earley Tractor, especially when they never fix anything. The New Holland 33 has the same problems that I paid them to $625.52 to fix.

I just want my tractor back like it was, I do not see how they have the right to keep my lawn tractor with all the new parts on it that I have bought from them.in my eyes and everyone and I have talked to many people, they are nothing but theives taking advantage of a vulnerable situation.

My husband is still very sick and I need this to mow our property. I have several witnesses to the fact that this lawn tractor was running when Earley Tractor picked it up, the only thing wrong with it was the transmission was leaking, that they had repaired incorrectly. Please please, if you live near Cameron, Missouri, do not do business with these crooks.
