Lawn Tractor - Craftsman lawn tracto

I bought my lawn tractor in Sept.in May/June? Of 2012 I had to call to have my tractor repaired. Recently just last week on June 4 I again had to have a repair man come out to fix my tractor. I was told by the repair man that if my tractor had not still been under warranty that it would have been a little over 300 dollars for him to fix it. He then told me that I needed to buy a protection plan because my warranty was going to run out in Sept. The cost was over 300 dollars for the year. I cant believe that I spent over 1400 dollars for this tractor and it has broken down twice once within the first year of having it. This is not a quality product if I have to fix it every year and it looks like that may be the deal. I live off of disability and do not have the 300 dollars to buy this protection plan nor do I think that I should have to when it is clear that I was sold a lemon. I seems to me that Sears should supply and additional protection plan because of the faulty equipment they have sold me. I bought it because it was a Craftsman and being brought up with Craftsman products I always thought that it meant quality. Apparently not so now days. I hope you can help me with this problem.
