I bought a Motorola V3 Razor for my wife 25 Jun with a $50.00 rebate offered. I mailed the required items well within the time required and received a letter 5 Aug from T-Mobile Rebate Customer Care Department. The letter informed me that they were unable to process the rebate because the original barcode was not submitted.
I know that it was in the envelope because I triple checked it and sealed the envelope very well. I also put the bar code inside the rebate form as added security. The fact that I received a letter from them proves that they opened the letter from me.
I contacted the customer care department and they told me that they needed the original bar code to process the rebate. I told them that it is not possible because they have it. The customer care rep apologized and said there is nothing that they can do until they receive the original & copies are not acceptable. I did ask for the name of the individual who opened my envelope (out of curiosity) but they could not furnish that information. I truly believe that they misplaced my bar code sticker and now they are pointing fingers at me.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. I am going to put some pressure on them to get the rebate that I qualify for.
