Complaint / Review
NHCD, National Health Care Discount
Ripoff

I was recruited last week to work with National Health Care Discount. The recruiter was very nice. I have been looking for a part time job to work at home while I work on my other career.

I was always very cautious about work at home jobs and so I asked a lot of questions. My husband, a conservative person was very careful and asked me a million questions about what I was getting into. However, based on the answers I received from my recruiter, I decided to try it out.

Every thing went smoothly. I paid my $29.00 deposit, $18.95 telephone access code and $29.00 for the Galaxy Health plan.

I worked at it for a couple of days. I have been working in the leads department for the past 3 day. I spent the last several years working as a customer service manager, which means that I know quite a bit about making cold calls and such the like. I have yet to get one lead. 90% of the numbers dial ring without answer or voice mail comes on. 4% of the people hung up. 3% are not interested the other 3% are not valid numbers.

When I was recruited, I was told by the recruiter that I would be paid $160. Per week and $6.00 per lead. I contacted my manger yesterday, just to confirm that info. My manager told me that it is $160 per week if you got 20 leads. IF you do not have the 20 leads you would not get the $160, you would then be paid $6.00 for each lead. None of this was told to me before. Good thing I asked for confirmation. Now based on what I described about my lack of success to speak to any real person, you can see how difficult it would be to make 20 leads in a week. Therefore, if I work my but off all week and manage to get 10 leads, my salary would be $60.00 for the week.
This is not what I was told by the recruiter or even during training. Thank you all for posting your stories. I am now able to make an informed decision. I called my bank this morning. They will not get a penny of mine. I pay for unlimited nationwide long distance and could not understand why I needed to pay a separate fee for long distance. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I will protect the little money I have.

I'm sorry I did not read these reports before I joined NHCD. Anything seems too good to be true, probably is.

I know that some people may have better or even good experiences this company, but based on the fact that I was misled initially, I am not taking any chances.
