I'm trying to buy a house and on my credit report shows that I owed Midland $2400, which by the way is not mine. I called them after sending them a letter stating that they had to provide me with a copy of the original contract showing my signature, and all that I got from them was the run around, as I've noticed so have all of you.
I spoke with Victor who told me that I would have to contact the Attorney that was handling this judgement, so I asked for the Attny's name and address and he told me to find it myself. I did find out and called that Attny and low and behold, they aren't handling anymore cases for Midland! That Attny then contacted Midland and told them that they were not their attny anymore and so I called Midland back and got shuffled off to another dept that was closed.
They refuse to provide me with proof of the original contract that I allegedly signed, and are demanding payment or they will put a lein on the home I'm trying to purchase. The catch to the whole thing is... I've never had a credit card! My credit was so bad from a previous marriage that I was unable to get one. I was yelled at, hung up on, sent to different depts that were closed, told to find documents and information myself. That they are suppose to provide to me, they refuse to provide documents that show my alleged signature. The letter that I mailed to them states right in it that by not providing me with the proper documentation that it is a FCRA violation and they still refuse to send me anything. They said that they don't have to send me anything because the letter got there too late.
Well, what is too late?
