I have been reading all of these posts about nhcd and it is funny to me how people can get their facts so messed up.
I started working for the company 4 years ago. When I started there was no fee! No deposit at all. This is what made me think this was a legit job.
I remember when I got the call from my manger saying that they are now going to charge $29 in order to work. I don't ever remember her giving me a reason why the company was doing this. Guess what? Because there was no reason the company just wanted to start making more money.
Well the deposit went from free, $29, $39, $49, $59, $69, $74 in a matter of about 2 years. If you ever asked about why they had to charge a deposit they could give you all sorts of bull crap reasons, but funny they kept changing the reasons every time the deposit increased.
The more popular reason was because they used it to hook up your 1010 code number. But I know for a fact that they hooked that up for free. They use it as a tax write-off. Weird they would lie to you about what it was supposed to be used for?
I do not know why I kept working for the company. When I started you got paid $15 a lead only if the sales rep called them back and they signed them up. If they did not make a sale you did not get paid! Well I turned in 23 very qualified leads and supposedly only 1 made a sale. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get that $15. About a month and a half. No Joking here.
Well I was about to quit but they said I could move into the recruiting position so I thought I would give that a try. Well we had to get our own ad calls by placing ads on the internet. How fun. Spend hours and hours placing ads that get little response because a lot of people do not like to do telemarketing!
I did get checks from the company but it would take weeks some times.in the lead generation position everyone you call either hangs up on you, yells at you, or already has insurance. I don't care how good you are on the phone. It is hard to get any leads to turn in to be paid for.
By Luck I guess, I started helping my manager with her work and became a assistant manager. This is what I did the majority of the 4 years I was working for the company. It was 12 plus hours of work a day with very very little pay. Managers get paid off of how well the group under them does and the group usually doesn't work. It is like a couple people will work and the rest will quit! They quit because they make it impossible to make a decent income. People do not want to spend a day worth of work and only make a couple of dollars.
Through the 4 years the company has made a lot of changes with the deposit and pay for the positions but nothing really has changed. They pretty much are ripping people off that work for them. Also ripping the poor people that sign up for the discount card they offer. They charge $94 a year for a card you can get for Free!
The company tells you the great income you can make in the different positions but I know better. How about $10-$30 a week for 20-40 hours worth of work. Not bad! LOL. Just let me tell you, I did payroll for the company for awhile and the highest earning managers did not make what they should be paid.
Well now there is no deposit. The company makes you sign up for qwest long distance unlimited plan to make your calls. Still getting ripped off because instead of you having to pay a refundable deposit one time you now have to pay a phone bill every month out of your own pocked. I wouldn't be surprised if the phone bill was more than you made that week working for them. The company gets paid a commission for everyone that signs up with Qwest. When the recruiter calls you they say that you have to sign up with Qwest Business long distance plan like it is special or something. Well my husband called to cancel the qwest BUSINESS plan when I did not work for nhcd anymore and they said there was no difference in the business plan and the regular unlimited long distance.
Another great thing they tell you now. You are paid a guaranteed hourly wage which is so far from the truth. If you do not produce and leads, recruits, ect. You do not get paid jack crap. O.H. Yeah and try to hire someone to work for this company. Have fun because the company likes to make huge changes about every other day so you are rewriting your script, changing your website, and calling in for tons of meetings to hear what they changed. The changes are never good! You spend tons of time on the phone making little or no money for the day and then you have to go and type all of your work in at the website. I know that you have to do this so they can get your work but you do not get paid for all of the hours it takes to type in the work.
Lots of recruiters lie about the pay and the job in general like say that it is not telemarketing so they can make the commission. I know this all to well because I was the person they called when they where lied to when I was a assistant manger.
On more than 1 occasion, the manager that I worked for when I was a assistant manger, almost got fired because of a new rep calling and making a accusation that was not true. The company would believe the new rep instead of the manger that had been working with them for 4-5 years. Example of a accusation a manger could get fired for. The new rep says: Nobody called me to set me up for a training. Even when the company went back and checked the 1010 code phone records and they had been called numerous times. The company takes the new rep side, pretty nice huh?
A bunch of managers have a lawsuit against the company right now for who knows what. NHCD does not want you to know!
I do not work for the company anymore. They all of a sudden decided that they did not want to have assistant managers so I was let go. How nice huh? I was like all of the other people on this board that stuck up for the company when I was working for nhcd but I was just lying to myself just like they are. They can respond any way they want. I know the facts about how this company is run and it is not good. You can be a manger in as little as 3 weeks no matter who you are. That can't be good. LOL
I can't say that the company will never pay you but I can say if you work for them and like it GREAT! But if you just read the other posts on this board it probably would not be in your best interest to start a job with nhcd. My opinion is that this company required the deposit and now gets the commission from Qwest and that is how they make all their money and you the worker loses big time!
