Ripoff Rebate Scam

I ordered a monitor from Tiger Direct and knew about the $75 rebate. This was one of the main reasons that I ordered this particular monitor. I printed out the forms from On Rebate and sent in all the proper documentation. I was sent an email shortly thereafter that stated that my rebate application had been successfully registered and then later accepted and that I would receive my check in 8 to 10 weeks. A few weeks after that, I received an email that my rebate was declined by the vendor, the reason being that the serial number entered was not correct. This doesn't make sense since the serial number that I entered on the rebate form and that was also located on the original UPC code sent to me was taken directly from the box that the monitor came in. How can they say that the serial number was not correct? How can this be the case when I took the serial number directly from the merchandise that was sent to me by the vendor? I have talked to several people at OnRebate.com and so far this issue hasn't been resolved. They told me that once the vendor declines the rebate, there is nothing they can do. It can't be resubmitted. I find this to be completely unsatisfactory since I did everything required and in the proper manner.
