We purchased an I-Inc LCD monitor which was a special being advertised by Tiger Direct. We followed the rebate instructions, and in particular, stapled the UPC label from the package to the rebate form to make sure it wouldn't get lost.
Several weeks later, we received a reply from the "Rebate Processing Center" that our rebate had been denied because the UPC label was not included. The response asked us to resubmit the claim with the original rebate label (which they now had.)
We contacted the 3rd party rebate processor and Tiger Direct telling them that it was now impossible for us to provide the original UPC label since it was sent in the first time. After several attempts to get Tiger Direct to honor the rebate and being told each time that there was nothing they could do (such as sending us the $50 rebate), we have terminated business with this firm, and will eat the $50 rebate which we had passed on to our customer.
In our opinion, Tiger Direct is an unscrupulous company. We suggest that in no case, should anyone buy anything from them involving a rebate if the rebate is what makes the deal worthwhile.
