When I first got this letter, I was confused. I did not sign up for any sweepstakes so, how come I got a letter saying that:
"Dear XXXXX,
We are trying to reach you regarding your $1,000, 000.00 sweepstake ID #XXXXXXXXX. Please call us at the above number. This is a free call.
Sincerely - Pat Haines, N.M.E. Sales representative"?
I called up at the toll-free number and was asked about my ID#, the weather and was even informed about no purchases are necessary to be in their sweepstakes. Then I was told about the magazine deal and I was like I am not interested in the maganize and try asking if the purcahse was neccessary.
I try to say something but was not able to input much, so i just told them which three or was it two magazines I would like to order and then I was transferred to their supervisor.
He asked me the same question of how is the weather and the deals. He asked about my credit card number and date. I told him but before he can confirm it or say anything, I asked him again what I was tyring to ask the guy who was talking with me before. I asked is it really necessary to purchase the magazines? If it is not, then I don't want to purcahse them.
He was like if you don't want the magazines then you give me your card informations and put down the phone rudely before I could say anything. Now, I hope that I will not be charged anything. I am really worried.
I hope these people will be CAUGHT.
