National Magazine Exchange
Or N.M.E. Ripoff: Unathorized transaction, needs to seriously get busted

Hi!

I called back National Magazine Exchange, which is also known as N.M.E., to be entered into the $1,000, 000 sweepstakes. Of course, it says on there that "no purchase or payment necessary to enter or win." So, I called to be entered.

I end up talking to one of the employees there who asks for the so-called ID#. I give it to them and I'm asked to verify some information. So, I give it to him. He then starts asking about the weather, while he's inputting this information.

Finally, he asks if I want to purchase some magazines. I tell him, I'm not interested because I already own most of those magazines. He says he will then transfer me over to his supervisor. I tell the supervisor the same thing. The supervisor then tells me that it's a great offer and that you save a lot off the newstand prize, etc.

I tell him I honestly don't think it's a good offer. He starts to get upset and says, "you don't think it's a good offer?!!!" I say, "no I don't." He then says, "well, your calculator might be wrong or something because you're getting 5 magazines for only $1.59 a week. I tell him, "yeah, but it's for 48 months."

He then says, "so you don't think it's a good offer?!!!" I of course end up annoyed and just want him to shut up so I say, "No, I don't." I ask him a couple more questions on the magazines and he says I can later change them to whatever magazines I want and that I am going to be receiving a confirmation letter within 7-10 days, which was for me to authorize the transaction.

I finally agree thinking that it's no big deal and heck I can give them some wrong credit card number. So, I give him an expired credit card number. My reasons for doing that were as follows:
1. I didn't want the guy bugging me anymore
2. I wasn't really interested in the magazines
3. A confirmation letter was supposed to be sent out
4. If nothing was confirmed, nothing would be charged.

Therefore, no harm done!

Boy, was I wrong! Two weeks later... Still no confirmation letter or magazines.instead, there's a "Past Due Notice", which I of course, do not accept for the following reasons:

1. I HAVEN'T received a single magazine.
2. I never got the confirmation letter.
3. I never authorized N.M.E. To make the magazine transaction.

So, I just hope people realize that National Magazine Exchange is full of sh* and that there really isn't a $1,000, 000 sweepstake. Not only that, I also hope my credit isn't affected because of this illegal, lying, cheating, corrupted company.

National Magazine Exchange needs to seriously get busted!
