Sears - Citibank - CBUSA - SEARS Credit and accountcare ripoff improper, illegal collection procedures

This company sold me credit insurance for my cards and then refused to pay when I made a claim. After 2 years of complaints no action has been taken. I stopped paying out of frustration and was eventually offered a settlement on both cards. One was paid.

When I visited the store to make my first payment for the other Sears refused to accept my debit card for payment, they are the only major retailer in America who is not configured to do so. I called collections and asked if I could make payment the next day as I was short on time. I was told that I could. The next day my payment for 2 months was accepted and I was told again via telephone the arrangement stood. I requested this in writing. I was told it would be sent.

I called several times to find out why I'd not received my letter. I was told that it was taking a little longer than expected. When the next payment was due I called again about the letter, I was told the same as before and that I MUST make my next payment or risk breaking the agreement we had.

I called from the store demanding a better answer than "you'll get it any day". The rep I spoke to told me that there WAS no arrangement. Paying 1 day late, even when I acted in good faith invalidated it. What I'd been told several times, by several reps over a month had been a lie designed to get money from me however possible. I began the hrs of phone calls every week yet again. I got nowhere.

I am at a loss as to what to do. The company charged me for a service from which I got no benefit when I needed it. THEY refuse to address it, they broke agreements, yet I am penalized? The account is currently up to date, but my reading has informed me that the creditor has violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the collections department has acted improperly, and the statement states I need not pay for a service which I am unsatisfied with IF I have taken steps to resolve the issue. I've made attempts for more than 2 years; I am desperate for a solution to this.
