Sears is now part of the problem - Website for paying bill

I have a Sears Credit Card which is a big mistake! We do not have a very big balance and have been making our payments online for over a year but now that Citibank has taken over the account, we are having problems making our payment. For some reason a new card was issued to me and now I can't make a payment online - I was told by customer service that the card must be activated to make a payment but I don't have the card yet and have been waiting at least two weeks to get it. They want $14 to make a payment over the phone - or you can drive to the store to make a payment. Their automated telephone system tells you over and over to go to the website and make a payment and it does not say you must have an active account. I will not shop at sears unless I absolutely have to as a result. I can't believe they charge high interest and late fees - yet they make it difficult to give them money on the account. They are not helping the consumer - too bad - I used to shop there - but not any more - I will shop someplace else.
