I worked for Granton Marketing for nearly 2 years, after enduring sexual harrassment, debt problems, and simply being outright lied to I finally quit. I used to defend the company with pride, truly believeing that if I just worked hard enough and kept a smile on my face I could make it into management. Not long before I quit I had a talk with my manager to let him know of my concerns. I noticed how nobody ever had any money, even the people who went out and could make $100-$200 a day. I noticed he manager turning hostile towards people that were struggling in sales, no fault of their own, the particular client they worked on just wouldnt sell. But instead of being switched, the manager mocked them and said they simply didnt work hard enough. I notied how every single male in the office would make inappropriate comments to women, and when I complained about particular incident with myself the manager simply told me to stop complaining and have thicker skin. So much for a sexual harrassment policy.
Maybe if the manager hadnt lived with harrassers or gone out drnking with them on the weekends my complaints would have been listened to. But the manager himself as as guilty of it as the other guys. He happened to be sleeping with of his "leaders" while also suppsdly having a relationship with an administrator in another office and at the same time it was also knwn that he was sleeping with his partners girlfriend who also lived in the same house!
The company likes to preach about how they think of themselves in the likes with Bill gates and Donald Trump, but I highly doubt that anything as such goes on within the walls of Microsoft.
Maybe if you are a man the comapny MIGHT work out, but definitely not for a woman. I used to hear the way my manager talked about the women managers/owners in the company. Ne was only around stll because she was the VP's ex-girlfriend, another though 10 years his junior, had also slept with the VP and therefore kept herself a slot.
I watched as people schemed behind other peoples back on how to make it so they failed, i watched them sabotage relationships to help themselves get ahead, all encouraged by the management. This is suposed to be a proffesional company?
I cant believe how naive and blind I was for so long, I wasted 2 years of my life. At first I thought maybe it was me, but after I quit I watched the office i worked in dwindle and fall apart because person after person kept quitting and the ones I keep in contact with who still wrk with the company are about to quit themselves. This means the manager of that office will go on a retrain which means he will no longer run an office but have to start all over "hit the field" again.
What now disturbs me the most is seeing the pattern on the consumer complaintss. It's not just a bunch of disgruntled ex-employees, eveyone has the same story yet from different offices around the country, some the office I've even been to and met the managers. And recently things have been getting worse, all the offices are seeing a drop in sales, the people being recruited are usually thugs of some sort or sales-hores that love to go out for the challenge of the sale. But even recruiting is bad, the turn over is the worst I've seen in two years, and I've noticed it in multiple offices, not just one, maybe people are finally catching on. Even the great Mr. K is having to run an office again, that was a flashing alert to me.
I'm sure someone might rebute me and say it's all my fault because I couldnt work hard or I simply lack ambition, but hat's not it. I did work hard, so hard in fact that my doctors were becoming concerned because I was unstable. I am definitely ambitious, being a college grad I have a ton of options, but I took a chance on this company and was greatly dissapointed. Maybe if I had slept wiht my manager things would have been different, but that's a sad thought. And I am not angry at all, it was my choice to work with the company and y choice to ignore the voice that told me to quit ahtousand times. It was me who was gullible enough to fall for all the manipulation schemes. So I am not mad, just simply very dissaponted because I had such high hopes and was let down by a lack of consideration. Everything I've read in all the other reports are true as well, some people are little hostile, but what they say is true, and you cant blame them for it. I hope anyone researching this company quickly looks for something else, especially women, this company doesnt care about sexual harrassment, the policy is just for show, nor do they really want to see women get ahead, they just recruit the ones they think they can sleep with, I once heard manager say that. And if you are an owner reading this. Shame on You. People are watching and listening to everyting you say and do, if you think you are getting away with something, you're not, someone knows and will eventually expose you. Good people dont take advantage of another persons trust, good people even business people do not need to lie and manipulate in order to be successful.
