I was contacted by AIU and convinced that I should give their service a try. I paid a $50.00 deposit and soon afterward I was emailed and faxed a ton of forms and paperwork which I filled out and returned to AIU. I was approved and obtain numerous loans through Federal resourse that AIU provided and through Sallie Mae. I was all set I had set everything up on the net and had my login and virtual campus set up and ready to go...
When it came the day to start classes I was no longer able to log into the virtual campus. I kept getting a HTTP 404 Error. It did not matter what computer I used to try and log in I could get to the AIU Page but when I tried loggin in to virtual campus (where you attend classes) I kept getting a 404 error. I contacted technical services and tried numerous suggestions and one time they had me enter in a dsn # and it worked momentarily however after I got off the phone with the tech it went right back to the 404 error. Well to make this long story short I could not attend the classes so I wrote to the Administrative people via email (Which Have ALL been saved) I explained that this just wanst working and I needed to get out of this. The gentleman explain he understood was very apologetic and assured me that ALL key word here is ALL of the loans would be returned to the source. Here it is TWO YEARS Later and the Sallie Mae organization is after me for the $1387.00 that AIU kept from them. I discussed this with Sallie Mae and they assured me that by Law AIU Had to return the money however they continue to send me a bill with interest accruing. I have made numerous attempts to contact AIU on this with NO satisfaction. The key here is i never attended any classes and never used their facilities and they promised they would return all of the monies but they did not. I know they returned the Federal Money as they dont want Uncle Sam investigating them for Fraudulent practices. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem? Or might one suggest who toreport this too???
