Sears refund - washing machine

I ordered a washing machine on the internet and paid with the option "paypal". I will never order anything from sears again. I called on September 9th to the store to cancel the order. I was told the order had been cancelled. I then called on September 11 to verify that the order had been cancelled. This time I called the 800 number. I was told it had not been cancelled so they cancelled it again. I waited the 3-5 business days for my refund as I was told by the customer service representative. I called the 800 again on the 17th of September and was told the refund was being processed and received an email indicating such. The next morning I received another email stating that my refund was on hold and that I needed to go to the store to resolve the issue. I live 50 miles away and I called the store to find out what the deal was. I was told by an associate in the appliance department to come on in and get my refund. I drove the 50 miles one way to the store to only get there and was told he couldn't give me the refund.By this point I am very upset. I just want my refund. It was cancelled before the washer even made it to the store. The clerk then called the 800 number and I was assured my refund would be showing up in my paypal account on Friday September 21st. Well it is the 24th of September and I have yet to see a refund.
